A wolf's tale (Very long) Empty

A cold breeze swept though the timber forest, as Lightfall the alpha male of the orange leaf pack, trotted with confidence, at the head of the pack, followed by the rest of them. The reason why Lightfall had a sudden lift in confidence was because he had killed the all mighty Centarus. Two weeks before, Centarus was alive and breathing, leading his pack with wisdom and justice, as did his father before him. But, at the time, fall was quickly drawing to a close, to make way for the harsh winter ahead, and fate simply decided to end the great leaders life. A human caught him at just the right time. They shot him, even though Centarus escaped, Lightfall was quick to kill. Centarus was too weak, too injured, and simply went to knock on heavens door. Now Lightfall leads, with Hambone at his side, eager to become alpha as well, Draco will have to work long, and hard to achieve what is rightfully his. The group marched though the grass, as the breeze kept gliding though the air, ruffling Draco's fur. Draco watched intently, keeping an eye on Lightfall, there was no dough what the young male had on his mind.

Drifthowl, follow a little further away, being the omega, and with no chance of rising in the ranks, she was prone to that for the rest of her life, but she didn't seem to mind that much, as she too had big dreams. Changling followed close behind her mate, as she was far different from Drifthowl. Changling, was just a fierce as Lightfall, and she disliked Drifthowl very much, and she was attracted to just about any male who showed dominance. The pack soon came to a halt, as Lightfall stopped for the night. Draco wasn't paying attention, bumped into Surge. He turned to snap at Draco's muzzle, "Watch it!". Draco moved back, his muzzle almost scraped by Surge's fangs. Draco snorted, he'd had enough of this, it was time for him to take action.
"Were are you off too?" Hambone growled, "Leaving for a while, what's it to you?" Draco scuffed. He continued walking, not giving Hambone a chance to protest. He knew they though he was getting to big for his boots. As he walked, night fell, and began to rain. His fur wet and heavy, Draco didn't want to stop. He was looking for, food, and water.

As soon as he found what he wanted, he filled his belly, quenched his thirst, and had a good rest. Draco woke, were he had layed down, under a tree. He saw that it had snowed over night, even though the morning sun was melting it away, just as quickly as it had came. Draco now had to find Surge. It was a little to fast for him to think so quickly about challenging, but he stubbornly decided that it was time for him to make his first move. Though, he had trouble finding his pack. As Draco howled, and listened to their howls in return, he noticed they were scattered. Maybe something had happened, a human? plane? helicopter?. Pushing that to the back of his mind, he followed the to where the howls had come from. it was his sister Drifthowl, and despite Changling's hate for her, Drifthowl was his sister, and he loved her dearly. He gave her a lick, and took the time to play for a while. After, she followed him, "So what are you doing Draco?, I can tell something is on your mind" he panted as she followed. "Challenging Surge" he answered her, keeping his yellow gave focused in front of him. Drifthowl's eyes darkened, she hated infighting within her own family, and believed any fight wasn't nessary, but that was one of the reasons why she was omega.

Lightfall, Hambone, Changling, and Surge were on the move when Draco and Drifthowl caught up to them. Swiftly, not hesitating, Draco took his chance to make way up the ranks. He lunged at Surge. They were ecual strength. Snarling, and growling echoed the forest, as Draco and Surge battled. Lightfall watched as the young male took one place higher in the ranks. Draco stood and watched as Surge bolted away, maybe to reclaim his place. Draco took one look at Hambone, and then Lightfall, and bolted away as well. He would need to get stronger to fight Hambone, and even stronger yet for Lightfall.

Two days had passed, and Draco didn't have much luck in finding a injured elk or moose, but he did his best to keep his belly full, and thirst quenched, and may be that was why he was strong. Draco decided he'd take a crack at Hambone, but by the time he found the pack again, Hambone had defeated Lightfall in a fight, and now it was all turned around. Since Lightfall had been defeated, Draco challenged him, and won. Draco was now beta, and he figured Hambone wouldn't be much if he won a battle with Lightfall. That night, Draco refilled his belly with food, and drank, and again in the morning. "What are you doing?" Drifthowl asked her brother. "Getting ready to challenge Hambone, he doesn't care, he only wanted power, same as Lightfall, you and I both know that if I'm leader, that position wouldn't change, and I would rule with the same wisdom and justice as dad did" Draco explained. Drifthowl nodded, she could see Centaurs in him. "You will do well brother" she replied, and rested her muzzle on his shoulder. That night, sleeping like puppy's, Draco and Drifthowl slept. But silently, and waiting, Draco was to make his next and final move tomorrow, that would end Hambone, and Lightfall's cruel leadership once and for all.

As the sun rose slowly, peeking over the mountains, melting last nights frost that had settled on the plants, grass and leaves, Draco got up and sat, looking for Hambone. He saw that even Drifthowl had left. Draco, with heavy paws, got up and began to track them. He howled and followed, and came up to Hambone and the others. Draco's yellow gaze flashed, and finally he challenged the alpha. A clash of teeth and claws was under way. They battled a long while, Hambone did not want to submit to Draco, son of Centaurs. When the battle was over, there was a winner, Hambone slunk away from his new superior. Draco stood proud and tall. Everyone, even Hambone, could see Draco's face, the one that Centaurs had once worn. They knew Draco would lead them though thick and thin, as the winter was in full swing, they had a lot a head of them, even the young alpha and his mate, but Draco wouldn't give up nor let them starve, even if it costed him his life.

SOOO, this actually happened, I know it must be a little fast, but I can rise from subordinate to alpha in under 10 minutes. I did dramatise it and but some detail into it, but I think it's quite nice, leave a comment if you liked it Very Happy and keep a look out cuz there's a lot more where this came from!
