Romance, Families and Pets RP ACTIVE

An RP where you can be a pet or a human! :D Find a spouse, have kids, and start a family!
RULES:
-You may have as many characters as you want.
-Only one pet for every two human characters you make, so it doesn't get over crowded with pets.
-Be realistic. No one has a wolf for a pet, and it's very rare to see someone with two-colored eyes (except Gifteh Trauma).
-As always, censor intimate moments.
-Minor swearing is allowed, but don't go over the top.
-You can't just not have a kid one moment, then suddenly have one the next unless adopting.
-This RP will start out as a romance RP, so no beginning with a spouse. A romantic interest is ok.
-Be as literate as you can. This includes anything from simply using quotes to using constructive speech.
-The following are pets you may have: dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles, insects, farm animals*, and horses*.
*Depends on property you live on.
-No playing a significant amount of a family.
-No dating another of your characters.
-No powerplaying.
-No godmodding.
-No flaming.
-Be a tolerant and fair roleplayer.
-Don't get mad at me if I tell you to stop doing something; I'm the owner of this RP.
-I will give you three strikes for breaking the rules. After the third strike, I have right to kick you out.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD:

Kathy Way, Spruce Avenue
The rural block next to the forest is known for its quiet and religious residents. There is a constant sound of hoof steps and whinnies throughout the homes. Its public services include a Catholic church, a Uniterian church, a stable, a grocery store, and a fire department.


I-7 Highway, 21st St., 22nd St., various surface streets
This suburban neighborhood surrounds the local freeway and, with its abundance of culdesacs, is a great place to raise a family. The residents are known to be highly Independent and Democratic, with a significant Agnostic population. However, Jewish residents flourish near the sinigag. Its public services include a park, an Elementary school, a cafe, a hospital, a sinigag, a drug store, and a Middle school.


23rd St., 24th St., 25th St., 26th St., various surface streets
Every house in these suburbs is almost a mansion that looks exactly the same to the others. This is where the high-class citizens live, to send their children to the nearby private school. It's purposely secluded from other parts of the neighborhood, being a private community. Its public services include a park, a private school, a casino, an amusement park, a High school, and a pool.

El Cajon Blvd., various surface streets
This urban ghetto is where those who can't make a living anywhere else sell drugs to make their money. They don't care about politics and religion; they care about gang conflicts and shootings. Vandalism and litter flood the alleyways and the most sinister secrets of the city are hidden here. Its public services include a drug store, a grocery store, a gas station, a cafe, a Baptist church, a High school, a butchery, a police station, a bar, a restaurant, a pet shelter, and a bakery.

It had been five days after new years. It was cloudy out, the clouds sinking low in a threat to rain. Emily pulled on her brown coat that always hung on the door and headed out to the garbage to throw out her trash bag. In her mind, it was a beautiful day. Her home was warm and welcoming, and it felt good to sleep the day off. As she stepped past her Volkswagen Beetle and towards the trash that sat on the sidewalk, she picked up a job listings magazine that was thrown on her lawn by the mail man. She stuffed it in her pocket and tossed the bag over her shoulder and into the can.


The little parrot cried for company as store workers and customers passed by him, but he found himself ignored. Eventually one of the employees picked him up to pet him for a little bit, but then placed him back in the tank and left him there. He was all alone; the other birds had been adopted out already. He shivered in the cool air conditioning and ruffled up his feathers against the winter breeze coming from beneath the door. He looked out the window and bobbed his head at the people who passed by, hoping someone would notice him, but the only ones who did were small children who smiled at them and then were pulled away by their parents.

Sofia started to march out the door with her blue winter coat, inhaler inside her pocket just incase the weather got to her asthma. She put her dog, Lilly on a leash and headed out her front door, locking it behind her. She waved to her neighbour, Emily with a friendly smile. "Hello Em!" She said to her friend before walking past her house, heading to the park for while with her dog.

Lilly sniffed at the lawn of her neighbours house, before looking at another dog wagging her tail playfully but it was on the other side of the road so she could hardly been seen by the dog. She hoped her owner, Sofia had brought a ball to play with at the park, as that was where she gussed they were going.

Emily smiled back at Sofia as she went back to get the recyclables. "Yo, Sof," she called back kindly. She marched easily up the stairway to the porch and grabbed the bag of cans in one hand and the bag of plastic bottles in the other, and saved room for the bag of paper. She tossed them all in the blue bin and turned back inside. Her living room was scattered with artwork made from empty wine bottles that she thought too pretty to throw away. Even the chandelier was lit by currents that ran through green tubes that necked out at the top. She admitted that she was a pretty good artist; but she couldn't admit she was a horrible alcoholic.

Sofia headed to the park then quickly getting Lilly's ball out her pocket and letting her of her leash, "Ready?" She said laughing waving her arm backwards and forwards to get her excited. She threw the ball extremly far so Lilly would use up energy. They played with the ball for a couple minutes, as the clouds started to get darker by the minute.

Lilly wagged her tail madly, jumping up and down then running to the ball at full pelt trying to catch it before it hit the ground, like her and Sofia had been training to do. She jumped up high, catching the ball in her mouth perfectly, then trotting back to her owner proudly. She put it down on the ground, panting hoping it to be thrown again but it looked like they were going to go home again soon because the rain would start pouring it down.

Will drove to another man's house, he had ordered his Art off Will's website. He did all kinds of different art; Graffiti, Canvas and sculpters. Each one looking different so they were special. He arrived at the address, mumbling the house number again, just incase. He parked up and took the Canvas out of his Fiat Ducato van, holding the canvas carfully. He knocked on the door, answered quickly, "Here you go! I'll be off now, see ya!" Will said handing it to him then the man passed him £500. Will walked down the porch going back to his van. "Thanks!" The man replied waving him off. Will waved back driving off going back home. Going back inside he looked at his other Art, that currently needed selling, but for now his fortune was well.

(Thanks, Pasteh, I'm straihgt in RL(don't judge you, btw) but I wanted to try something different for this RP; especially since some people I know or homosexual. .-. And btw, Korey is a good artist for a main hobby; he doesn't have a job yet.)

Korey slowly drove down the road in his pale green Volkswagon Beetle; something he was always lightly punched by his friends for owning.
"Slug bug green!" They'd chide, lightly punching his shoulder. He'd force a smile and lightly laugh along; but they mostly didn't, since honestly, Korey hated it.
But going to the pet store was a happy thing, eh? No time to dwell on sad things.
As Korey pulled up to an empty spot right in front of the large window in the doorway, he shifted the car into park and slid out. He slowly closed the door, and it beeped as he locked it. He proceeded towards the door, and swung it open slowly.
"Hello!" a thick man greeted. Korey looked up at him, and blinked slowly.
"Hi. Do you have any birds?"
"Many. We've also got this little parrot we've been trying to adopt. Every other parrot.." the man paused, starting to snicker.
"FLEW outta here!" he screamed laughing now. The burly man pounded his desk, then waved his hand towards the cage with a red face. Korey shrugged and dusted off his torn blue jeans; for no real reason, just an action that people might do in an uncomfortable situation. Peering into the cage, he looked at the little bird, huddle away in the corner.
"Aw.." he whispered, kneeling down to look at it carefully.

The little African grey stepped forward to the man who looked at him with shining eyes and gleaming hair. Birds can see four primary colors, one of which humans can't see, but there was no color to describe the hope that radiated from the human. Hoping he would take him like so many others took his brothers and sisters, he bobbed his head from side to side screaming, "ERah, ERah, ERah!"

(Sumi put the last bit of lip stick on her bottom lip, then she looked at herself in the mirror one last time. She grabbed a donut then grabbed her brief case and locked the door on her way out, she started her car and drove off to work. Was that good enough to join?)

Korey smiled and rose.
"Uhm..Sir, could I have this parrot, please?" he asked, turning to face the man.
The burly brute nodded slowly.
"He's been here for two months; his whole life." the man thrust a bird cage at Korey, and open the large square cage. He grabbed the bird and plopped it down into the golden cage Korey had, then reclosed the empty silver on.
"On the house; the birds been here so long. See you again." The man said in his baritone voice. Korey slowly nodded and shuffled out to his car. As he closed the car door, he slowly set the cage on the passengers' seat, and backed out, wondering what to name the small little bird. Every so often he'd glance back at the parrot hopefully, making sure it wasn't his imagination.
(Paste, what would you like for a name? Btw, you said it's Monday in the RP, right? And, do the dates follow like in real life? And, when do you want the parrot's birthday to be?)

Sofia decided it was time to go back home, it was getting way too chilly. "C'mon girl, lets get going." She siad bending down to Lilly putting her leash back on, grabbing her ball putting it back in her pocket. She walked back home, looking at Emily's house as she passed it, "Wonder if someone's ever going to live there" she thought to herself as she looked at the house next to Sofia's. She put her keys in the front door and went inside taking off Lilly's leash again. "Home, sweet home." She said to herself as she felt the warmth of her home greet her. She sat down in her livingroom, Lilly taking a nap in her dog bed. While Sofia decided to watch some of the news.

(Looked it up. :3 "500 British pounds sterling = $792.70 US dollars" Also, you can name the bird; every five pages is a day; the bird's birthday is October 30th. And Gifteh, you're accepted, as long as you make your posts long. :3)

The parrot screeched in surprise as his cage was rattled and thrown, then sat silently in confusion as the world around him began to move. He'd seen this happen to other birds, but never thought about what it must be like. He paid little attention to the human, who seemed to be controlling to vehicle with a strange circular device, and more to his limited view of trees and buildings that rushed past. With each one, there was a rushing "swoosh" that made him flinch, and he screamed whenever the vehicle suddenly bounced upwards.

It was almost noon, and already Emily had opened a bottle of liquor. She liked to sit there on her couch and watch the clock turn as she wasted her life away, but since her parents became worried she promised not to overdue it. Reluctantly, she put the half-emptied bottle on the glass table and looked at the job listings. In this economy it was hard to find a job, so she pulled out her Dell laptop and spent the rest of the day filling out job applications for a cashier at Vons, a part-time babysitter, a Sunday school leader at the Catholic church, and a maid.

Korey glanced at the bird as his car sputtered. He pulled the key out, not before shifting it into reverse, then grabbed the cage and slowly slid out. He walked up the narrow walkway and opened the pale blue door with ease. He shuffled inside the bright living room, a huge chandelier looming above them. He set the parrot down, then looked at him, pondering over possible names.
(So it's Tuesday? And..The dates co inside with real dates, yes?)

(Like I said, five pages is a day, and today is still Monday, because it's only been two pages. :3)

The parrot was not at all what he was in the store now. As much as he wanted to be excited, he was scared. So many noises, and movements, and colors... He'd spent his entire life in the pet store, wondering if there really could be much more than that. Now he sat there, frightened and speechless, as the human who had finally taken him a way, like he'd always dreamed, oddly moved about.

Korey blinked as he saw the parrot curled up, terrified, in the corner of his cage.
Maybe he'd eat something...And he'd probably like some water.. the young man thought as he stretched, then walked to the kitchen. Reaching into a cupboard, he pulled out a small teacup, just the right size for the parrot. He filled it with nice, cold water, then returned to the cage.
Opening the golden door, her slid the cup into one of the holes for dishes to go, then retreated to the couch, a few inches away. He flopped down and grabbed his laptop, and began typing once Yahoo! had been accessed.
what do African gray parrots eat? he typed, searching it instantly. He opened two links he thought looked good. Skimming them, he managed to pull out special seed and pellet mixes, fruits,(except avocados) vegetables, special foods,(cooked eggs, rice, starches, potatoes..as good treats) nuts, occasional meat, and nothing more.
I have some fruits and lettuce in my kitchen... he thought, standing. He walked slowly to the kitchen, grabbing a slightly larger bowl and grabbing apples and bananas from cupboards and his counter. He rinsed the apples off, peeled them, and diced them into bits small enough for the bird. He laid them in the bowl, then grabbed the banana. Peeled it, cut it into small pieces, put it in the bowl. He then left the house to his backyard, picking some fresh lettuce. He brought it inside, cleaned it, cut it, and put it in the bowl. He shook the contents around a little bit, then headed back to the cage. He opened the door and slipped the bowl in, then lay down on the couch, closing his eyes.

Sumi walked to her desk, there was a pile of paper work she had to fill out "ugh mondays..." she said to herself. As she filled the last piece of paper work it was lunch time, she picked up her keys and walked out of the building, she unlocked her car and drove off to eat at Arbies. As she was eating she gazed off at another table where a man who she thought looked attractive was sitting, then the man looked at her and she quickly blinked and continued eating, the man got up and walked off he passed her table and he dropped his phone number on her table then continued walking, she smiled then she put the phone number in her purse. She finnished eating then she cleaned her table and she got her stuff and walked out to her car then she drove off back to work.

(Giftie, I know you havent yet but..there is a rule that says your not allowed to date one of a character you created, sorry. Maybe you can pretend its Will? XD I want a partner on this RP :3)

Sofia sat on the couch with a glass of water, tired and it had already started to rain quite heavily. She sighed, she remembered she had work early tommorow morning. When she finished her drink, she got up going to the kitchen getting Lilly's food bowl filling it up with dog food for her. "Lilly!" She shouted over to her.

Lilly lifted her ears up, 'Food!!' she thought to herself and dashed into the kitchen wagging her tail. She immediately started to eat her food happily, she was starving, like always.

(Sr. Chloeh's right. If you want the office person to be your boyfriend or romantic interest or whatever, it'll have to be played by someone else. :3 Btw, NEVER FEED A BIRD AN AVOCADO. Sorry. Had to get that out of my system.)

The little parrot looked down into the bowl. He didn't recognize the weird reddish-yellowish things, or the green things, but quickly saw his favorite food: bananas. He reached his head down and grabbed some, swallowed them, then began ravenously pecking them out of the dish. They weren't as fresh as the ones at the pet store, and they were a bit green still, but nevertheless, they were bananas. When he couldn't find anymore, he swayed his head around again and went, out of random joy, "ERuh ERuh ERuh ERuh..."

After Emily filled out all the applications, she went on eHarmony to see if she got any responses to her video yet. She sighed hopelessly as the comments section was still blank, as if it would be the rest of her life. She watched it again, just to confirm no man would ever want her. It was just her sitting on the couch saying, "Hi, I'm Emily, and... um... I like to make sculptures, and my favorite food is Jello... It's just so fun to poke... I'm obsessed with American Idol but I hate singing myself, my favorite color is dark green... Like, foresty green, like the color of my shirt... and... my favorite animals are cheetahs..." Somewhere in the middle of the video, she shoved another empty bottle out of the camera's view. She sighed again and watched it repeatedly, and, as if something would finally happen, she reloaded the page, every time looking all over the screen for an update.
