Run time error.. with lots of numbers.

So I'm getting this error when i click to launch the client



however the server works all fine an' dandy.

Anyone know what the problem is??

Hm, tried to run the game in administrative mode? (it's a pain)

The error-code seems to be caused by an Direct-X or D3D - Issue.

@Kouga: Is there an debug-log or something that YorkieFan11 can sent to us ?

Yes. But it usually isn't a problem with creating the texture from file.
Same thing happened for vista and it was a file back then which was missing.
Same goes for Windows 8 where vb6 apps don't work until you install the runtimefiles.

Okay.. Sounds to me that there should be an missing command or something like that, that you can patch with the installation of vb6 or else.

Nope. If it was a command it wouldn't work at all It wouldn't even compile.

It's actually quite against the logic since directx8 is installed on any system and there are NOT supposed to be files missing! Still they seem to be missing on some system which results in said RTE.

Ah, directx8... eh, what?! Directx8 ?! That was the biggest mistake of the history of DirectX!
8.0a, 8.0b, 8.0c all only bugfixes for the regular 8.0.
Please remember: On newer Windows Vista and Windows 7 Versions ONLY DirectX9 - 11 is pre-installed.
Its possible that required Libarys are missing.
Im 100% sure, that i had to upgrade DirectX on my Windows98 virtual machine, that comes with Directx3.
As i tested with Windows 2000 (known as Windows NT) i had do DOWNGRADE (better words: to install the older version of directX)

I was happy to switch from directdraw to such a thing as semi-3d xD But as always, you may be right. Registering dx8vb.dll might help (as did dx7vb.dll in the previous versions). You might want to check the topic "In case of missing dll/ocx files" for that if you don't know how to or if you run into trouble doing so.

Oh by the way; seems I ran across a problem. Visual Basic 6 (that I use to develope WO) does NOT support dx9 ... it's from vb.net and above.. and I don't want to learn a whole new language just to implement a slightly better technology... oo instead I'll use a workaround. That'll register the dll/ocx files with admin rights if there's an error.

I did check out the support portion. I'm running the server and client as an admin, but I still get the error.

I dont know, maybe this? It may be your computer, like mine kept freezing when I put WO on. Re-download it and after a couple options there should be something called 'repair' when its about to download, click that and maybe that will work.

Just downloaded those RT files, and now it's asking me where I want to extract them to? (Sorry, I'm not all that techy.) x|

I dont know exactly where to extract them too..I didnt need them because its already on my computer. But Im guessing its in your
Local Disk (C:) Im not sure though really so try that first.

But would I extract them to a separate folder or my 'WINDOWS' folder?

Oh god um separte folder? I think that might be better sounds like your computer is different from mine though so yeah try that first.
